About Master Forge
Master Forge is a team of bladesmiths, designers, and blade lovers building handmade weapons the way they were meant to be built — one piece at a time, by hand, in a real forge.
What We Make
We specialize in five categories of hand-forged blades:
- Katana — traditional Japanese swords with full-tang construction
- Damascus knives — folded-steel blades including kukri, hunting, and chef knives
- Viking spears — Norse-inspired spearheads with solid wooden shafts
- Machetes — high-carbon blades built for bushcraft and survival
- Swords — longswords, rapiers, and medieval replicas
Every product is made to order or hand-finished in small batches. Nothing is mass-produced.
Our Materials
Quality starts with the steel. We work with:
- 1095 carbon steel — hard, sharp, and built for edge retention
- 1060 and 5160 carbon steel — tougher, ideal for machetes and working blades
- T10 tool steel — traditional for katana, produces a clean hamon
- True damascus folded steel — hundreds of layers, unique to each blade
We don't use stainless steel for our swords. Stainless is for kitchen cutlery — not for serious blades.
